Work on Ramp at Bass Lake
Recently, work began on a new ramp to the trail around Bass Lake. The current gravel path that leads from the parking area to the lake is eroded, making it difficult for visitors to access the popular loop. It will be replaced with a paved path. During construction, visitors can still access the trail via an alternate path leading from the parking area. The need for contractor vehicles at the site may slightly reduce parking capacity over the next several weeks. The restroom building will be closed, but portable toilets will be available. The project is made possible through donations to the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation. See more details about the project here >>
